Four Years with Tiger

To my darling little Tiger Adams. It’s hard to believe that today was the day of your birth 4 years ago. And in the last year, almost all traces of your babyhood disappeared and this intensely smart, strong and loyal little boy has emerged. I am eager to see if you stick to your assertion that you will entirely give up diapers when you turn 4.

I’ve never met another person (let alone a child) who is as tough of a negotiator and as certain in their beliefs as you! I lose most every battle, but thankfully I don’t usually mind the extra minutes you milk out of bedtime, that you’ve entirely refused to wear blue jeans, that you need to ride your bike around the driveway several times before getting in the car, and to embrace some of your seemingly unreasonable preferences (corn on the cobb but not corn?) that it’s really important to you that things stay where they “belong”.. I am so proud when I see you lovingly teach Arrow how to do things - what a long way we’ve come in 1 year!

And I know you mean it when you say “you’re my best friend mommy” and “I don’t want to go to sleep because I don’t want to miss you”… I know our lives are so busy, but I treasure the moments we share. Much love to my very special, oldest boy on his 4th bday, and thank you for coming into our lives and challenging, loving and expanding us.
